Connecting the world takes every one of usand we're just getting started.Facebook is seeking a Data Center Site Manager to establish, lead and scale our new Data Center in Odense, Denmark. Our datacenters, and the tens of thousands of servers installed in them, are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. The establishment of a new Data Center in Odense is an important milestone in the evolution of Facebooks datacenter expansion. This position is full-time and will be located in Odense, Denmark Establishing and managing a Data Center Operations Team responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of our server fleet in Odense Working with the centralized organizations to contract for and manage the day to day operations of the Server Repair team and other outsourced services Partner with the Site Selection, Datacenter Design, Construction and Facilities teams on the development of the project site, from groundbreaking through handoff to the Datacenter Operations Team Working with Public Relations, Public Policy and Site Operations Management, take a leading role in managing the ongoing relationships with local, regional and national entities Working with peer organizations to assist with issues associated with network operations, project management and supply chain operations. Mentoring managers and leads such that they can run daily operations with minimal supervision Developing both the technical capabilities and leadership qualities of individual contributors Finding creative ways to keep operating costs to a minimum Partner with global peers and central teams to constantly develop new approaches, processes and automation, to allow Facebooks global computing footprint to continue to scale effectively. Contributing to the development and implementation of processes which support: Efficient equipment installations (servers, switches, routers and storage hardware) Timely equipment repair and upgrades Rapid troubleshooting of issues with hardware and Linux OS Tracking issues, reporting and managing key metrics Minimum 10+ years of management of technology operations, including datacenter operations Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, hands-on, start up environment Highly experienced in personnel management, staffing, and scheduling for a 24/7 environment Ability to make decisions and work with minimal direction Understanding of data center power and cooling infrastructure Understanding of network and cabling infrastructure Experienced in project management Experienced in vendor management and negotiations Excellent verbal and written communication skills, using English as the primary business language Comfortable speaking at public events A positive, service oriented attitude Approximately 25% travel required
