Tractebel’s Business Line "HYDRO" seeks a (m/f) : Geotechnical Engineering/Dam Expert The working environment As Geotechnical Engineering / Dam Expert you work from our heasquarters in Bad Vilbel on projects in the field of dam construction, geotechnical engineering, soil mechanics and foundation Engineering. Your field of activity includes, inter alia: Design and stability / deformation and seepage analysis for dams, foundations and excavation pits; The position requires travel and field work as required by project demands. Short-term assignments and field work to validate the geotechnical site conditions will be necessary; Design for Feasibility Study, Tender and Construction design stages; Planning, tendering and supervising geotechnical investigation programs; Evaluating geotechnical exploration and testing results, interpreting and characterizing subsurface conditions, and preparing reports and memorandums including Geotechnical Baseline Reports. Adopt the design according to the investigation results; Profound knowledge in the fields of geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics and applicable codes, standards, procedures, safety, and other regulatory requirements and guidelines. The following professional and personal skills and attributes make you the ideal candidate: Degree in Civil Engineering from a University (PhD/Dr.-Ing. or MSc/Dipl.-Ing.) with focus on geotechnical Engineering; Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience. Preferable with oversea assignments. Professional experience during PhD /Dr.-Ing. can be considered; Skills in engineering including advanced slope stability and geotechnical foundation analysis, design of geotechnical structures and soil structure interaction and the relevant modelling software (e.g. Plaxis 2D and 3D and Slide); Good verbal and written English communication skills. Additional languages such as French, Spanish or Russian are beneficial; Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support project needs. Assignments may include travel to remote locations and outside work in various climates; Motivation and flexibility, independent, structured and responsible work skills and willingness to grow personally and professionally; Ability to work with a multicultural team.
