An opportunity has arisen to join our Manufacturing Team as a Team Leader.
Specific Responsibilities
Assign day to day tasks to operators, whilst managing holidays and T&A.
Manage flow of product through manufacturing to minimise lead-time and maximise machine and people utilisation.
Operate machine tools to cover holidays and absence
Analyse and report daily performance against production plan, taking necessary remedial action when required.
Support shop floor personnel with problem solving (e.g. tooling, fixtures, CMM etc).
Work with production engineering, quality and design to optimise processes.
Implement and monitor TPM of key processes.
Liaise with MTR and suppliers for machine tool servicing and repairs.
Capture down time information and provide solutions to the team.
Investigate and resolve planned vs. actual labour booking variances.
Promote a culture of process improvement across the team.
Ensure company procedures and policy are adhered to at all times.
Ensure conformance to Cosworth's Quality Management System.
Strive for Process excellence in all areas.
Embed 5S working practices.
Identify and implement (where appropriate) cycle and process time reductions.
Identify and action training needs to create a multi-skilled, rotated workforce.
Skills, Experience and Character
Essential
Leadership experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
Competent broad range of mechanical engineering and manufacturing skills.
CNC machine tool setting and operating experience.
Basic numerical and computer skills.
Rational and logical thought patterns, ability to analyse and make effective decisions.
Change oriented and keen to promote forward thinking,
Effective team building skills.
Effective communicator both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills, a persuasive negotiator.
Customer focused both internal and external.
Committed and enthusiastic.
Desirable
Automotive engineering experience/background.
Keisan, 5s, 6 Sigma and SMED.
