COMPANY DESCRIPTION
As you know, SAP’s vision is to help the world run better and improve people’s lives.
As THE cloud company powered by SAP HANA®, SAP is a market leader in enterprise application software, helping companies of all sizes and industries Run Simple.
We empower people and organizations to work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively. SAP applications and services enable our customers to operate profitably, adapt continuously, and grow sustainably.
At SAP, we believe in the power of collaboration and empower our employees to perform at their best in an environment that encourages free and open expression of ideas. Here, you work alongside creative thinkers who share your interests, while turning big ideas into reality for our customers. With innovative job training, mentors to help you grow, and the flexibility to balance your work and personal life, you’re able to build your career. It’s no wonder that some of the sharpest minds from around the world are working for a company that is consistently recognized as a global top employer.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP is pushing strongly into the cloud. SAP’s business unit Customer Engagement & Commerce (CEC) is redefining the paradigm of customer relationship management. We focus on the customer and the entire journey, including traditional marketing, sales, and service, as well as orchestrating online and mobile commerce and other interaction channels. Our applications are highly consumable, built on a flexible microservice-based architecture on Hana Cloud Platform, and delivered to public and private clouds.
Germany aims to cover 80 percent of its electricity demand with renewables by 2050. To achieve this ambitious goal, new solutions must be developed in many fields. Therefore SAP is driving the Enera project together with EWE: Under the name "Intelligent Energy Showcase – a Digital Agenda for the Energy Transition“ the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is funding a program that is a practical test over several years which is designed to show how future-proof energy systems can be applied on a large scale. The plan is to involve selected market participants from all value creation levels to demonstrate how these future energy systems can be technically realized and what economic added value they offer.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documenting the results. We achieve this in interdisciplinary and international teams that include architects, user experience designers, quality specialists and developers. Working in a scrum team, you shouldn’t be shy to interact with your peers, to share your insight, to identify areas of improvement and constantly learn about new technologies.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
What do we expect from you?
In the first place? An open mind! We expect you to be motivated, learning a lot of new technologies, adapt quickly to a high changing environment and proof thinking out-of-the-box. Fresh insights and ideas are always welcome.
Required skills
Technical skills and experience with JAVA
Analytical skills that enable you to learn from every failure and to go forward with every iteration
As part of an interdisciplinary and international team, we build on your communication skills as a team player
Strong motivation and ability adapting to changing requirements
Fluent in English and German
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, science, or business administration is a good starting point for your development career at SAP CEC
Preferred skills
We don’t expect you to be an expert on all development methods or programming languages yet. However, skills in microservice-based cloud architectures comprising Cloud Foundry, Spring/Spring Boot, CI/CD (Jenkins), databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, …), messaging (RabbitMQ), GitHub, Kibana and Maven, as well as skills in JavaScript and HTML5 are a clear bonus. It’s important that you understand what it means to build software for the cloud: being cloud savvy, keywords such as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and DevOps pique your interest.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Are you a new graduate or an early talent? We’re happy to receive your application and to hear your insight into the future of the cloud. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply if you have up to two years of working experience. We would definitely like to hear from you, too!
