Are you a self-motivated, enthusiastic, driven individual? Do you have maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting? If so, Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our Warm Springs, GA Plywood facility and we would like to hear from you!
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Perform mechanical inspections, repair and maintenance on all manufacturing equipment
Work to improve uptime within the plant
Document and record preventative maintenance findings in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Replace and/or repair defective parts using welding, drill press, surface grinder and other maintenance mechanical tools and skills
Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled
Adhere to and promote all safety policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment throughout the plant
Effectively communicating, both written and verbally, work performed and equipment statuses
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Willing and able to work any shift, variable start times, overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
A minimum of three (3) years of maintenance/millwright experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience in arc welding and oxygen/acetylene cutting
Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
Experience with computers for record keeping and documentation functions
Willing and able to work in high places in excess of 80 feet
Willing and able to work in confined spaces
Willing and able to follow precision job plans for critical work orders and equipment repairs
Willing and able to use precision job tools to include but not limited to: torque wrench, belt hog, and laser alignment tools
Willing and able to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations to include wearing safety equipment
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of maintenance/millwright experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Experience with manual lathes and milling machines
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, HVAC and steam systems
Experience with reliability best practices as it relates to hydraulics, bearings, pumps, motors and mechanics
