JOB PURPOSE
Degree qualified and preferably Chartered Engineer status, the successful candidate will be required to lead the energy and power sector through Business Development, Bid Management, Estimating and associated functions towards a £100m p.a. business, securing an on going pipeline of construction work at consistent operating margins. The business sector will operate primarily in public regulated markets.
Plan and direct the activities of Infrastructure to maintain ICL standards in quality, health & safety, customer satisfaction and legislative/governance compliance.
Maintain and develop with all staff, customers, suppliers and partners. ICL’s reputation, Capability, Workplace, Outcomes and achieve Results in the market.
This is a geographically flexible role and the candidate must be prepared to travel to different work locations and accept that nights away from home are to be expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positively support and as appropriate manage a business unit or series of business units to ensure their commercial viability;
Ensure the business is sustainable in the long term;
Direct the business unit to meet ICL and Infrastructure expectations;
Operate the business to comply with legislation;
Adhere to corporate governance requirements;
Ensure the company‘s philosophy is embraced within the business unit;
Contribute to policy decisions of the company;
Increase the business market share through developing contacts and effective marketing;
Be aware of economic and social influencing factors which will affect the business;
Seek work streams which increase profitability and enhance market value;
Obtain customer feedback and react when appropriate;
Recruit and develop staff to ensure adequate succession planning;
Ensure company systems are operated and developed;
Enforce company discipline when required;
Oversee its operations to ensure the business projects a positive image;
Line management responsibility of between 6 and 10 direct reports with ultimate responsibility for sector staff across the whole business unit;
To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.
