Siemens Financial Services uses technology as an enabler to provide leading edge solutions and the Business Analyst would be working as part of the Global Competency Centre for Origination Platforms; to act as the bridge between the business and IT. The role would include identifying areas that need improving or updating, finding solutions to any problems using various methodologies and techniques to carry out intensive research and deep analysis.
The GCC is responsible for all analysis, delivery and support for the key front-end systems across the business user base through close cooperation with our chosen 3rd party supplier.
What are my responsibilities?
Facilitate the development of systems as required by working closely with our outsourced development partners.
Designing and documentation of requirements to the agreed business specifications.
Managing testing and release cycles as well as maintaining system documentation.
Perform systems analysis as a result of any change requests or project tasks to validate specifications and make any recommendations ready for sign off.
Provide proactive maintenance and support in conjunction with Support/Systems teams with an aim to ensure no unplanned down time of business applications.
Ensure all current known activities are documented and any changes performed in accordance with agreed change management procedures.
Responsible for ensuring all documents are available in agreed libraries to audit standards.
Investigate and resolve incidents as required and carry out Service Requests/Operational Tasks in accordance with IT Service Management standards.
Ensure the team is prepared and actively supporting business and service continuation including incident management and resolution through to Business Continuity Management (BCM) assisting with BCM testing and or invocation.
To continually look to increase process improvement including actively identifying new opportunities to increase process and economic efficiency within team
Ensure customer and team satisfaction through demonstrable high quality customer support and services, routinely seeking and acting on feedback.
Must forge strong relationships with all parties, building trust in solutions and knowledge and bridging any gaps as necessary.
Whilst not a project manager the role is required to manage the business analysis effort.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Technology-related skills in financial applications, systems & platforms
Must be able to facilitate working meetings, with good questioning and listening skills, with an ability to transcribe and understand what’s being said.
The ability to be a strong communicator in a virtual setting (via conference calls or web meetings) is equally important
Must be proactive and dependency-aware and able to show commitments and deadlines are self-managed.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Analytical IT skills including understanding of MS SQL
Business process knowledge (commercial banking, treasury, finance and leasing, etc.)
Skills in analysis, communication and presentation
ITIL V3 qualification or demonstrable considerable relevant experience.
Advanced Business Analysis skills and ability to prioritise whilst working in a high pressure environment.
Project management experience would be ideal including planning and organisation skills to manage delivery in a changing environment.
Demonstrable willingness to assist colleagues and support team members in achieving goals and objectives.
Can demonstrate some previous experience and working knowledge of continuous improvement best practise.
