HeidelbergCement Board has clearly stated the goal of achieving a sustainable “best in class” cost structure in the group aggregates operations. Following the successful implementation of “CLIMB Ops” during the period 2011-2013, the target is now to consolidate a sustainable culture of “Continuous Improvement” in HC Aggregates operations. CCM Aggregates CI Manager (Continuous Improvement) will work with county management, CI local champions and the staff at our quarries in order to identify margin improvement opportunities and promote the CI culture in our aggregate plants.
The intent of this role is not to replace or act on behalf of the local business management. Hence strong communication skills are required. The purpose is to coordinate together with the local management, organize and lead the continuous improvement approach in the German/Turkey/Egypt Aggregates operations.
The position will enable the holder to further develop their project skills and provide them with an opportunity to make a high profile impact on the company’s performance.
Taks and responsibilities
Plan, communicate and lead quarry optimization visits and develop a consolidated CI approach.
Co-ordinate communication and CI initiatives with Country Managers/ Country Operations Managers and the Regional CCM Director
Push for continuous “bottom-up” initiatives by the quarries management and staff.
Secure that the right resources (internal and external) are put together in due time for supporting CI initiatives. Validation and implementation in the shortest delay.
Support the local management in evaluating the necessary CapEx required by the related CI initiatives.
Ensure with and through the relevant country management and country subject leads, that all elements of the program are optimized

Produce optimization reports in due time into the HC Group CI tracker with clear actions showing savings and margin targets and implementation (maturity evolution) targeted schedule (position will have an assistant resource for projects evaluation and tracking needs)
Site optimization actions/report must be signed off by country teams and WSE-AEM CCM.
Measure and report the project progress.
