Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and motivated Cloud Developer to join our Lighting Research team in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. We are looking to fill a need for a fast learning, competent and highly motivated individual to be part of the team developing software applications in the cloud.
You will work in a research team very closely with business development teams to integrate new innovations into cloud environments and ensure their ongoing support once there
Gain a deep application-level knowledge of the systems as well as contributing to their overall design.
Be or become a DevOps champion - work closely with other internal teams to build security, reliability, and scalability into the development lifecycle.
Dive deep into the software stack to troubleshoot as needed.
You will actively contribute to all aspects of agile software development: planning, tracking, architecture, development, configuration management, testing, integration, validation, and documentation
Working on the boundary of Research and Business you have to be able to materialize new innovations and keep abreast of technical developments in own field
A few examples of technologies we work with on a daily basis: AWS, TerraForm, Docker, Apache, Jenkins
Your Team
The DigiLab Research Lighting department has a strong link to a wide range of Philips Lighting businesses supporting the innovation cycle from early concept into development in an Agile way. DigiLab is part of the Systems & Services Innovation sector positioned as the excellence center for software craftsmanship. We focuses on first of a kind concept development and prototypes with a software related core. The department is using state of the art languages, frameworks and operates using Agile methods.
We are looking for:
Candidates who share our passion on software development and cloud technology . Our ideal candidate has:
- At least a Bachelor (or Master) degree in computer science / informatics
0 – 3 years software development work experience in a Cloud environment
Software Development experience with a modern programming language like Java, Groovy, Scala
- A team player with a flexible hands-on and Agile mindset
Someone who structures his own work and shows a positive and pro-active attitude
