Responsibilities
Main responsibilities
Drive train vibration data analysis. Identification of turbine reliability, technical issues and root cause analysis. Definitions of critical thresholds and recommend actions
Support of the takeover process from warranty to ECR control regarding status analysis and transfer of relevant data for condition monitoring
Support multiple on-line turbine condition monitoring software platforms. Definition parameters, alarm levels and set-ups on a fleet level basis
Give support to regional Operations and Maintenance teams about the faults, reliability and technical issues detected and the recommended actions. Follow up of the feedback and actions
Provide commissioning & start up support for any new CMS installations
Ad-hoc reports for non-standard analysis requests
Establish and maintain commonly used data bases for e.g. component failures, component kinematic data etc.
Additional responsibilities might include:
Condition assessment of wind turbines and its main components through analysis of combination of SCADA and drive train vibration data
Set access levels in the different vibration monitoring systems
Establish and further develop guidelines and technical standards for vibration monitoring, forming the basis for e.g. procurement specifications and operational procedures
Coordination within EC&R and stakeholder management; standardizing activities around condition monitoring process and actively engaged with the site staff concerning the condition monitoring system
Oil condition data analysis from oil samples or on-line devices
Define and update, as appropriate, oil contamination/degradation alarm levels and parameters
Qualifications
Required:
Local and / or Global Certification in Vibration Analysis following ASNT & ISO standard and body of knowledge (ISO18436) or equivalent
Minimum of 6 months of experience in Vibration and Condition Monitoring & 2 years of O&M experience
Ability to communicate and work effectively with various project teams
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME),
Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or applicable technical degree from an accredited college
Knowledge of Reliability Engineering as well as thermography, endoscopy, electrical monitoring and others
Experience in writing procedures, specifications, instructions and similar documentation
Oil Analysis certification from ICML, STLE or similar organization
Good interpersonal skills leading to high level results within an international team, being able to act comfortably in various cultural environments
Renewable energy experience
Additional language relevant for EC&R (German, Italian) would be a +
Substitution Clause: A 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school, other than correspondence or on-line, in a technical hard science (engineering, physics, power, or closely similar) may substitute for 2 years of experience.
