Engineering Projects Team Leader
My client is a world class process-driven manufacturing company who are looking for a Engineering Projects Team Leader to manage multiple capital projects whilst providing leadership to the Projects Engineers within their on-site Project Engineering Team.
They have recently embarked on game changing capital equipment programmes in respect of improving processes through strategic plant upgrades. Supported by substantial CAPEX budgets, they are also focusing on increasing reliability across the site. This is a business critical role where the successful candidate will simultaneously lead multiple capital projects in addition to supporting other members of the Projects Department and reviewing other projects they are not directly accountable for, from concept through to delivery. In particular, we are keen to attract candidates who can act as a change agent within the team to identify, define and implement improved processes and ways of working. Individual project values may range from £100k to £2million, Annual CAPEX budget in excess of £5m, and encompass both mechanical and chemical processes.
We are inviting applications from project engineers or managers with experience of successfully delivering multiple projects simultaneously whilst also leading / managing a team of project engineers or providing support across a range of their projects. It is likely that you already have client side experience and that you have worked within a manufacturing or process related environment where you have been responsible for plant equipment upgrades. Project Engineers who have worked in sectors such as; pharmaceutical, chemical, and agro-chemical, mineral or metal processing, or refining related environments are likely to be of significant interest. Ideally, you will have had exposure to projects that encompass plant that includes, but is not limited to, materials handling, blending, high temperature processes, and reactor / pressure vessels. You will be suitably qualified in an engineering subject. Degree level (or higher) engineering qualifications may be preferred, as would a recognised Project Management qualification, but above all, experience is of paramount importance. The role will also involve travel to customers and suppliers, so a full driving licence is desirable.
You will be responsible for the following areas of projects and be able to demonstrate your experience in relation to:
* EHS and compliance
* Planning and Financial Management
* Project Delivery (Including Supplier and Contractor Management)
* Line management of Project Engineers (Permanent and Contractors)
