Brief Description
The prime purpose of the role is to provide support to the fleet management effort.
It involves liaison and co-ordination both internally and externally on financial, operational and technical aspects to support the full range of activities involved with managing the company’s fleet of aircraft both present and future. In addition there will be administrative support tasks for other duties covered by the department.
There is the potential for personal development to take on a wider responsibility for selecting and negotiating commercial and technical agreements with suppliers on behalf of the company.
Detailed Description
Acquisition of aircraft
Building relationships with lessors and financiers.
Ensuring the technical suitability of candidate aircraft.
Assisting in coordinating the cross company effort to bring aircraft into service.
Management of aircraft assets
Working as the interface between the asset owners and internal departments to ensure any obligations undertaken in relation to the assets are met.
Monitoring and forecasting financial obligations and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Assisting with internal requests and projects on fleet related matters.
Assisting with strategies to optimize asset value management of the company’s leased and ultimately owned aircraft and engine assets.
Assisting in planning the wider fleet strategy.
Return off lease co-ordination
Ensuring the technical departments are aware of and are implementing contractual obligations.
Determining commercial strategies to minimize the company’s financial exposure and negotiating with asset owners to implement those strategies
Research on external affairs issues
Provide data research to support the company’s point of view on industry affairs issues.
Assistance in dealing with departmental insurance issues
To coordinate and drive forward insurance claims in relation to the aircraft assets where required.
To assist in preparing budget data from asset value.
Job Requirements
Knowledge:
Previous experience in a coordinating role
A background in aircraft operation and technical control would be advantageous
Skills:
Good communications skills, both written and spoken.
Good numerical analytical skills.
Versed in use of Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheets.
Experience/Education:
Prior experience in commercial aviation at a management level a definite advantage. Educated at least to good A level standard or equivalent.
Competencies:
Logical structured approach to problem solving with the ability to formulate alternative plans.
Negotiating commercial terms with aircraft owners and relaying this to lawyers.
Analytical and Numerical skills
