Job Description
HeidelbergCement Group’s Global Competence Center Materials (CCM) Aggregates Engineering is seeking Interns (f/m) in Heidelberg, Germany.
HeidelbergCement Group produces a broad range of heavy building materials in four main product lines: cement, aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready mixed concrete and asphalt.
Within our Global CCM Aggregates Academy and Engineering team you will work on projects that contribute and support global initiatives to optimize the design and performance of our aggregates plants and training materials for operations. These projects have the goal of driving continuous improvement thorough development of improved systems, processes and tools, identifying and sharing best practices worldwide and initiate improvement measures.
Your next challenge
You will work with Global CCM staff to support operations in achieving goals with exposure to experienced engineers and managers in the department and other departments. The scope of work includes preparation and review of documentation.
You will assist with systems and training that support design, production processes, sales and commercial processes, maintenance processes relating to aggregates and quarrying.
You will participate in a team environment to complete assigned project work. You will have the opportunity to participate in various training programs.
Many interns have used the opportunity and exposure in HeidelbergCement to develop their thesis topic to have practical and relevant industry application.
Extra Information/Requirements
Your profile
You are studying Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Business, Economics or Computer Science. Other technical areas of study will be considered. You have your intermediate diploma or are at an advanced stage of your Bachelor’s degree program.
Go getter who is willing to try new things. Can take an idea and work with peers to move it to completion.
You are able to familiarize yourself quickly with new topics and grasp concepts quickly, but not afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand.
Analytical, attentive to detail, able to see the big picture.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications with very good skills applying and using IT systems and tools, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Experience with data analysis, charts and Excel macros and Visual Basic for development to improve analysis and data management processes are required.
Commitment and engagement through high level of work ethic and utilization of abilities for the best of the company.
