Provides paralegal support to one of the Legal Department’s specialty practice groups.
Drafts legal agreements, correspondence and other legal documents. Proficient in a specific area of law. Responds to legal inquiries. Performs legal research and legal filings. Other various projects as assigned.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Computer proficient. Has strong management, research and organizational skills and is detail oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. BA/BS degree or related experience and 5 - 8 years relevant legal experience. Paralegal certificate preferred but not necessary.
Oracle is building a Legal support group for EMEA with a number of lawyers based in Bucharest and Prague. We are looking to recruit a Junior Legal Counsel / Paralegal in Prague to provide centralised support for Oracle’s country-based lawyers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, undertaking a variety of process-related tasks relating to contract documents and commercial transactions. This role is ideally suited for a junior lawyer seeking experience in a multi-national environment, with the opportunity to develop legal, organisational and communication skills and to work with experienced lawyers in multiple jurisdictions.
The role will be reporting into the Senior Legal Manager for the EMEA Legal Support Group, with some day to day management from various country-based lawyers.
Main responsabilities:
Liaison with local country legal teams
Working closely with Deal Management / Contract teams in Bucharest and Prague
Sales Support
Legal input on lower value deals
Drafting approval requests on relevant legal terms
Business Practices advice and guidance
Briefing country-based lawyers
Deal Support to Deal Management team
Review of complex orders/review of simple contract clauses
Local Country Legal Support, including dealing with:
Assignments/novations and similar requests
Customer data and legal information requests
Debt recovery and bankruptcy reviews
Approval request reviews
Litigation report support
RfP reviews
Review and negotiation of non-disclosure, teaming and similar agreements
Engagement with acquired businesses to support transition to Oracle’s practices and processes
Engagement in longer term projects such as reviews of Oracle’s standard contracts
Qualifications:
Full legal qualification preferred, but prepared to consider partially qualified candidates.
Fluency in English. Ability to work in at least one other major European language (such as French or German) or an Eastern European language (ideally Czech, Bulgarian, Lithuanian and/or Estonian) is an advantage.
