Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer will be located in Leimen (near Heidelberg), Germany and report directly to the Team Leader Miantenance Area WSE.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide support in major repairs (mainly earmarked repairs e.g. main gear replacement, tyre replacement etc.): The maintenance engineer should provide assistance to prepare a detailed procedure for the repair and develop a detailed schedule of the repair. Coordinate with external agencies if required.
General operational support to the plants
Trouble shooting of major/recurring maintenance related problems (need based)
Should be able to conduct an RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) on major/recurring breakdowns (need based)
Assist plants in major overhauls (need based)
Responsible for knowledge sharing between the Technical centres & the plants
Implement the global maintenance policy in WSE Area in coordination with Global HTC and other Area HTCs
Conduct training on maintenance techniques to the plants, support organization of maintenance related seminars (at least twice in a year)
Responsible for development & sharing of the best practices between the OU’s and between the Technical centres
Implement MIP across new ITC Plants according to Handbook & carry out sustainability audits of plants
Should have the capacity to handle small projects as a “Project Manager” (Only need based cases)
Earmark major repairs which will need HTC’s help in the future (3~5 year plan)
Support and coordinate the organization and implementation of maintenance systems and major repair projects in WSE Area Plants
Develops maintenance improvement initiatives e.g. introduction of Predictive Proactive Maintenance techniques (Vibration analysis, NDT - Ultra Sonic testing etc..). This should be done on a global basis i.e. for all the plants in the region and not just one plant
Assist with the review the yearly maintenance budgets of the OU’s (and also help the plants in preparing the yearly maintenance budget)
Assist with setting targets for reduction of the maintenance costs (as a percentage of the fixed cost)
Together with the Team Leader Maintenance, ensure the uniformity of the maintenance budget & expenditure within a span of 3~5 years
There should not be large “Peaks” and “Valleys” in the budgets of 2~3 consecutive years. Thus it is imperative to develop a “3 Year maintenance plan” at a stretch – Maintenance Engineer should guide the plant in developing this plan
Develop and update Heidelberg Cement standards for inventory control and set target for Inventory reduction over a period of 5 years
Introduce and update the SAP-PM and MM systems
Follow up the latest state of art technology in the area of maintenance procedures and consequently adapt it in WSE Area
Support investment projects (only need based), Group Purchasing and technical due diligence (only need based)
Conduct training on maintenance techniques to the plants, support organization of maintenance related seminars (at least twice in a year)
