The MRO Inventory Manager will work closely with Stores Managers and Procurement Managers across the Consumer Products organization to lead the procurement and stores teams in identifying opportunities and implementing improvements in storeroom management and inventory management. These improvements will include new item initiation process, replenishment process, slow moving and obsolete processes, software improvements and experimental discovery/trials. The Inventory Manager will work closely with the reliability team to develop and implement processes for reviewing inventory to lead in the optimization of inventories, supporting reliability goals and operational excellence. This person will be responsible for the overall inventory metrics to include, total inventory, excess inventory, excess inventory with demand, New Item Initiation (NII), AUP, stock to non-stock and slow moving and obsolete.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Responsibilities:
• Development of strategies to maintain optimum inventory levels supporting site reliability and operational goals.
• Identify and implement overall strategies to improve storeroom efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop plan for implementation and utilize procurement/stores personnel to execute
• Ensure that all storeroom operations improvements are in full alignment with the long term Inventory Management vision of GP and the businesses we support.
• Identify opportunities to add/remove inventory as appropriate for each site
• Work with all divisional Reliability teams to ensure improvements to inventory management practices are in alignment with the overall business vision.
• Implement, report, and improve key inventory management metrics to support continuous sustainable improvements in inventory management
• Track and support inventory management metrics related to vision and strategy.
• Attend regular meeting(s) with Director of procurement operations to report progress against key metrics, successes, opportunities and current activities
• Analyze data to understand key opportunities for improvement
• Develop and implement training strategies to close gaps and ensure compliance to GP Guidelines
• Engage/Promote open challenge cultures to create greatest value for GP
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 3 years inventory management and/or MRO procurement
• Able and willing to travel 50% of the time.
• Experience in manufacturing environment
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or engineering
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of AS7 preferred
• Exposure to multiple work management and inventory systems and platforms
• Understanding of and ability to use reporting systems – Toad, sequel reporting, access, excel
