Job Description
The Pyroprocessing Engineer will be located in Leimen (near Heidelberg), Germany and report directly to the Team Leader Pyroprocessing.
Task and Responsibilities
Support and consult cement plants in the field of production optimization and process engineering
With special focus on kiln, preheater, clinker cooler, raw meal grinding process, alternative fuel burning, also in the field of detailed process design
Legal compliance: ensure that production installation conform to norms and regulations regarding the quality of production and pollution control
Commissioning and optimization of production facilities
Regular monitoring and evaluation of operation coefficients and Key Performance Indicators
Conduct process improvement studies including payback and EVA calculations
Perform operational performance meetings (pyroprocess part)
Judgement of measuring results and advice for improvements to maximize performance
Planning and leading of performance tests and plant audits
Support plants in process troubleshooting
Support Master and Capex plans procedures
Work on investment and non-investment projects
feasibility / profitability study (IRR, NPV, EVA)
General process design and review (including selection the most suitable pyroprocess technology and equipment)
flow-sheets design and equipment selection for the most cost-effective solution
Process calculations (mass and energy flow calculations)
Detailed engineering reviews to meet required production objectives and constraints
Process related risk assessments, HAZOP, process related functional analysis, interlock analysis
lead and participate in the commissioning and performance testing
Support acquisition projects by evaluating cement plants and supporting technical due diligence
Support and fertilize group-wide knowledge management in the field of production and process engineering
Ensure deployment of best practices and guidelines, including in the field of health & safety
Conduct training of plant personnel regarding process understanding, plant equipment, operation and optimization
