About the role We are looking for an innovative Life & Health UW expert with a proven track record in delivering new propositions to the German L&H protection market utilising innovative customer focused UW techniques and who is looking to use these skills in an exciting start up environment which challenges traditional UW approaches. The role has 3 key deliverables: to grow iptiQ's presence in Germany through adapting our innovative and customer focused UW strategy for the local market and distribution opportunities; to support the onboarding and ongoing management of new and existing Distribution deals from an UW perspective; to oversee and ensure high quality and efficient services from iptiQ's centralised UW hub in Bratislava. We are recruiting a Senior Branch UW expert into our main Branch locations of London or Munich. In parallel we are recruiting for iptiQ's Head of UW into either London or Munich. The successful candidate for the Head of UW role will fulfil the Senior Branch UW Expert role for their location. If a successful candidate is recruited for the Head of UW in London then the Senior Branch UW Expert will be filled by a candidate in Munich. If the Head of UW is successfully recruited in Munich then the Senior Branch UW Expert role will be filled by a candidate in London. Main Tasks: Adapt our philosophy and ensure appropriate for the German Branch and local market balancing innovation in Customer experience with appropriate risk management Proactively engage as the local UW & Claims expert in deal onboarding for new Distribution Partners and new business development for existing Partners Oversee Centralised Case Management team and ensure fast, efficient and good quality case management together with responsiveness to Distribution Partners and Customers Provide key training and support provision of Services by third party administrators Ensure appropriate execution of the market & deal philosophy On an exception basis review and approve UW decisions for complex case referrals for the German Branch Review and approve consumer literature & product design, such as policy documents, T&Cs etc On a limited basis review and approve UW decisions for complex case referrals Contribute to ad hoc iptiQ EMEA projects About the team iptiQ EMEA is part of Swiss Re's Life Capital division which manages all our closed and open life & health insurance portfolios across Europe. iptiQ is a start-up, established to deliver innovative protection solutions sold direct to consumers through Distribution Partners. Our team delivers the coordination, infrastructure and competences key to driving forward this new business, while working closely with the rest of the Swiss Re Group. An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the iptiQ EMEA UW & Claims team. These functions were previously provided from within Swiss Re's Reinsurance teams and we are now establishing a new team within the iptiQ EMEA business. We are looking for an ambitious and innovative self-starter who thinks outside the box to undertake this key role for one of Swiss Re's strategic initiatives. About You You have significant work experience in life protection UW adjudication and Philosophy Design in Germany (5 years or more) You bring a proven innovative and entrepreneurial attitude and strategy track record with excellent delivery skills and are comfortable working in an area that is fluid and dynamic You are willing to challenge established ways of performing UW in terms of digital customer journeys You understand the value of automated underwriting and claims decision processes as well as the need to constantly optimize the manual work processes around this The dynamic environment of a young insurance company committed to the digitalization of life insurance business is a rewarding factor for you and you want be part of this disruptive business processes You have a client centric attitude and experience working with external clients/distributors focused on the needs of customers You are comfortable managing multiple deliverables and reprioritisation Ideally you have experience working with L&H Protection insurance Claims You speak German and English fluently – further European languages will be advantageous especially Spanish, Polish & Dutch
