We currently have an excellent opportunity in our NPD Department in our Grocery business unit based in Cambridge as a Senior NPD Technologist.

The role of Senior NPD Technologist will be to create & deliver quality products through innovation and upgrading which satisfy the customer & business strategies. You will work with the team to develop and deliver the ‘best in class’ commercially viable products from approved product brief to launch, supporting the NPD Product Development Manager / NPD Controller.
The majority of your role will be to manage the concept to launch process. You will be responsible for ensuring timely completion of product benchmarking & submission of results as required by our customers. Work with suppliers of new raw materials & packaging (& procurement department) to ensure products being developed are done so with suitable raw materials
You will ensure development procedures and critical paths are followed as per Grocery Stage and Gate Launch Procedure. You will create and write new recipes for NPD projects and will make up samples from a given recipe and from research following a brief.
You will assist with internal feasibility assessment in terms of product design and the product process. Co-ordinate / carry out daily trial activities, assessing new raw materials and ensuring draft process control documentation is prepared in advance. You will ensure approval of trial product, advising relevant personnel of the outcome of the customer review and communicate update of activity within NPD and the wider site team.

We desire the candidate to have a food related degree or similar experience, and 3 years NPD experience.
