The ECB is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Technical Specialist (Room layout changes) in the Premises Division. Within the Directorate General Administration, the Premises Division is structured into three sections:
the Corporate Real Estate Management Section is responsible for providing all owner, landlord and tenant services, including the planning of the ECB’s medium-term spatial requirements and space management;
the Technical Facility Management (TEFM) Section provides and oversees all technical facility management services, including the operation and maintenance of the ECB’s premises and technical infrastructure and the provision of audio and media services;
the Construction Project Management Section is responsible for all building projects.
The successful candidate will be assigned to the TEFM Section.
As Senior Technical Specialist (Room layout changes) you will:
supervise and support external service providers in the execution of room layout changes, involving flexible office walls (company Federle system), carpets, raised floors, doors, suspended ceilings and painting or carpentry work;
maintain contact with counterparts at external contract partners which are involved in layout changes;
maintain contact with ECB internal counterparts responsible for room allocation, furniture, technical infrastructure, logistics and cleaning as well as room owners;
develop and adapt strategies to optimise room layout changes in the ECB’s owned or rented buildings;
support the Head of the TEFM Section in the implementation of strategic decisions in your field of responsibility;
take responsibility for all issues related to layout changes in TEFM;
update the ECB’s technical and building documentation guidelines and the ECB’s technical identification system, based on DIN 6779;
contribute to maintaining as-built documentation in an IT-based technical documentation management system, particularly architectural floor plans and fire escape route plans;
contribute to further improving the computer-aided facility management (CAFM) system, Planon;
draft and map out processes related to technical facility management;
represent Premises Division and the TEFM Section in ECB internal coordination meetings.
Qualifications and experience:
Successful candidates will have:
ideally, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture or a related field, or a vocational qualification in one of the above fields combined with four years of relevant professional experience;
in addition, at least three years of relevant professional experience of layout changes in modern office buildings;
a thorough knowledge of German standards with regard to technical infrastructure and technical facility management, as well as of German laws and technical standards relating to buildings;
experience in process mapping for technical facility management would be an asset;
an advanced command of English or German, and an intermediate command or higher of the other language;
working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access;
experience with AutoCAD;
working knowledge of CAFM systems (e.g. Planon) would be an asset.

Further Information:
Fixed-term contract for three years which may be extended subject to individual performance and organisational needs.
