Job Description
Summary:
SDL are seeking a DITA Solution Architect to deploy and support the products in the SDL Knowledge Center suite (formerly known as SDL LiveContent). The Solution Architect is the key domain expert and technical resource who is critical to successful implementations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Leads the implementation efforts from a technical perspective for multiple projects in varying phases of implementation simultaneously
Works within overall project plan and schedule to deliver projects on time, on budget, in scope
Meets directly with client’s business users to identify project objectives and business requirements; and with clients, IT users to identify technical requirements
Participates in the business requirements gathering process for client configurations and customizations
Responsible for configuration and customization design sessions with the client and project team
Consults with customers on configuration and implementation options based on best practices
Supports solution installation, configuration, customization, testing, and deployment, including preparation of test scenarios.
Oversees client user acceptance testing.
Acts as a mentor for clients in transferring domain knowledge
Collaborates with customer team participants
Generates timely project status, time, and expense reports, as requested by management
Ensures that all implementation methodology deliverables are complete and on-time
Previous Experience:
SDL are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:
A proven record in software implementation management is required
Deployment of component content management solutions
Knowledge of the DITA XML standard (DITA 1.1, DITA 1.2)
Implementing rules based publishing systems (DITA Open Toolkit, XSL-FO, XSLT, SDL XPP, SDL LiveContent)
Communication skills with clients at all levels including IT staff, Business Users, and Executives
Bachelor degree in computer science or minimum of 6 years’ experience implementing software
Field consulting or professional services delivery experience
Group presentations skills, such as conducting classroom training or presenting to a large audience
Knowledge of localization process including software engineering, DTP, graphics, translation, internationalization, multimedia and knowledge of translation and workflow tools and process
Seeking a candidate with:Authorization to work in the US Ability and desire to travel frequently to client locations
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and feel comfortable in group settings Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training Skills
Physical Demands:
Office location can be discussed and work from home is a possibility for the right candidate. There will be potential to travel to customer sites or other SDL offices located in EMEA. This person must have the ability to travel as part of that and must have a valid visa or passport for the following countries:
