Missions & Objectives: · Provides in-depth industry expertise pertaining to regional customer (industry-specific) business issues and opportunities; takes both a short and mid term view, so as to be ahead in terms of regional industry perspective · Helps translate these regional customer business needs into addressable and quantifiable market opportunities for NOKIA; defines the regional market requirements for NOKIA to compete and differentiate with a 12 to 36 month view of the market requirements · Co-ordinates these needs and requirements with the rest of the Energy team to form and influence global solution strategies; co-ordinates these needs and requirements with other regional leaders to form and influence regional solution strategy · Provides further industry expertise in the area of regional regulation, technical standards and requirements, qualitative market trends, competitive dynamics, etc. · Drives regional NOKIA vertical sector credibility vis a vis customers, partners, regulators, etc. · Supports the solutions definition team in defining regional industry-specific solution requirements, so as to ensure that these solutions address critical regional customer business needs · Identifies possible regional strategic partnerships or business alliances, to enhance the NOKIA positioning/solutions offering in a given industry · Acts as the business development interface to sales and tendering teams on vertical solutions · Provides business support to the regional Business Group teams, aiming at understanding and addressing contract-specific or customer-specific business needs; could be for opportunity assessment, qualification process, RFP response, solutions customization, etc. · Interacts with regional customers as business experts (customer facing business support) · Contributes to regional vertical training programs and acts as internal vertical “evangelists” · Tracks opportunities at a regional level; track references and experience on a regional level. · Support the marketing function through creating and approving the necessary solutions collateral, sales packs and presentations for specific solutions. · Collating global references and experience. Key competencies: · English level: fluent · Specific database or tools : Excel, Powerpoint, etc. · Diploma required : University degree in engineering – MBA welcome Specific knowledge: · The ideal candidate will have a background in sales or sales support, finance, technical marketing, and contracting. · Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the requirements of the energy sector, including utilities, oil & gas, and mining. · Comfortable with numbers analyzing market opportunities and trends · Must have the presence and confidence to support sales leads at the COO, CTO and CIO levels within utilities · Understands the issues posed by mission critical communications in the vertical market industry. For preference (but not mandatory), has experience in the utilities industry. Where this is lacking, must demonstrate the ability to learn new topics quickly. · Understands the full communications portfolio required by mission critical applications · Excellent communications skills, both orally and written with the ability to evangelise both internally and to customers. Expected behaviours and skills: · Must be self-managing: able to assess the different demands being made and to set own priorities · Must be a team worker: the energy team will be have expertise scattered around the globe which will both need supporting through personal expertise and need leveraging to complement the market leader’s own expertise. · Must be a hands-on manager: this job is not about managing others, but about getting the hands dirty by getting involved.
