JOB PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be required to lead a £30m p.a. Water Treatment Framework based from our Clients offices in Durham and Darlington and have overall responsibility for the management of the framework team consisting of approximately 50 staff. The role will report directly to the Northern Water Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the establishment and delivery of the objectives and targets contained within the Interserve Annual Business Unit Business Plan;
Overall responsibility for delivery of the Framework, maintaining high performance of the framework and effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors;
Supporting the Northern Water Operations Managers with business development in the region;
Key role in delivering the Interserve UK Water Business Plan;
Monitoring of the Business Unit performance from a safety, quality, financial, environmental, and health point of view;
Ensuring high scores for internal and external KPI’s;
Leadership and inspiration of the framework team;
Support and encouragement of innovation in the team;
Working alongside our Client to support delivery of their AMP6/7 business outcomes;
Implementing and maintaining Interserve Construction Strategy and Policies for sustainability, health and safety, quality, environmental, training and development etc;
Ability to prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines;
Directly supervise a number of project teams comprising of project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen, etc;
Ensuring the project teams comply with the Interserve Business Management System;
Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials, etc in order to maximise commercial profitability;
Framework programme and framework resource management;
Ensure we deliver excellent Customer Service to our Client;
Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development;
Arranging training for the framework team;
Undertaking annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role;
Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement;
Management of Tier 2 suppliers;
Providing aftercare services to the customers;
Any other duties relevant to the job role;
To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same
Line management, mentoring and support for Contracts Manager / Construction Manager & Project Engineering Manager.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate subject;
Professional Qualification (desirable);
CITB Level 3 Safety Course; (desirable)
Appropriate CSCS Card; (desirable)
Design Management skills; (desirable)
High level of leadership and management skills;
Technical experience and knowledge (desirable);
High level of commercial and financial ability;
Excellent organisational and communication skills;
Experience in a similar role;
Excellent knowledge of sewage treatment and water treatment processes; (Preferred)
