PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily serves as technical point-of-contact for Human Resources Department, and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. Will also supports HRMS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: STRATEGY & PLANNING Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements, establish systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues. Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. ACQUISITION & DEPLOYMENT Lead planning, design, development, and deployment of new and existing applications. Conduct research on software and hardware products, justifying recommendations and supporting purchasing efforts. OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations and alternatives addressing existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across organization. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house and cloud based systems. Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts providing direction to system programmers and 3rd party service contractors. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support. Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. Lead development and documentation of \"As Is\" and \"To Be\" processes formalizing blueprint for solution and approvals. Responsible for gathering requirements, gap analysis and providing quality documentation of detailed user/business requirements to facilitate proto-typing, configuration, and development of functional reports. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. This is an individual contributor position. Competencies required: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly and Interpersonal Savvy. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Level I Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years’ related work experience. Level II Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 7 years’ related work experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Level I & II Microsoft Project experience and knowledge. Certification: PMP, PHR, CBA, CAPM, CPM, etc. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures. Strong understanding of payroll/compensation processes. Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements. Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools. Thorough knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with HRMS (i.e. ADP EV5, PeopleSoft, Lawson, etc.). Exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects. Proven experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems and products. Extensive experience with core software applications (e.g. SAP, Adage, etc.). Excellent project management skills with familiarity with Project Management Tools. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently sit for long periods of time utilizing office equipment and/or computers. Long periods of time requiring intense concentration in an open area office space. Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds.
