For our Offshore Secondary Structures Design (SSD) team in Vejle, Denmark, we are looking for a competent and passionate Lead Engineer. As a part of the Offshore Engineering organization, the SSD team plays an important role in designing and optimizing the wind turbines of tomorrow. Secondary Structures is the term used for components inside the tower and foundation, e.g. ladders, platforms, service lifts, cables, safety components, external stair case, etc. The scope of work in the further will include a higher level of focus on foundation, this will add a lot of new challenges, where the team will play a significant role. What are my responsibilities? As Lead Engineer, you will be overall responsible for the project specific design and have a decision-making role on all Secondary Structures components. You will be the single point of contact for customers and other stakeholders in regards to questions about EHS, standards, certifications and interfaces. You will work closely together with the selected certification agency as well as with design engineers and Engineering Managers, Supply Chain, various sites and assembly locations and with colleagues from other departments inside the Engineering organization. Your main areas of responsibility will be: Construction and design of project specific solutions based on standard modules Input to and review of Bill of Materials and documentation Review of 3D models and 2D/3D plans of Secondary Structures components Internal certifications Project support, including cross-departmental cooperation Continuous improvement of product and cost Assessment of whether project specific solutions needs to be implemented in standard modules, or whether it is anticipated as seldom/not to be used again What do I need to qualify for this job? You have an educational background as a structural or mechanical engineer. Alternatively you have worked as a technician in structure and development for at least 3 years You have a genuine interest in and flair for engineering and project-oriented assignments Preferably, you are an experienced user of Inventor, SolidWorks or NX and familiar with Teamcenter and SAP You are outgoing, structured, responsible and have a rational and detail-oriented approach to your assignments. You are innovative, have a practical understanding and a well-developed professional pride You are a dedicated team player, but also have the ability to work independently, and you know the importance of meeting targets and deadlines You thrive in a dynamic and international environment, and have good communication skills in English, both orally and in writing. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
