The Legal Entity Controller is accountable for the quality and accuracy of the accounting books for the legal entity and responsible for the direct supervision of local controllership team.
Maintains and improves accounting processes.
Responsible for maintaining a robust control environment and supporting management’s compliance with internal controls framework.
Acts as a resource to business units and corporate initiatives.
Represents the Company to external authorities and business community.
The candidate will:
Ensure that the financial reporting of the legal entities is in compliance with statutory and corporate accounting policies. In doing so he/she will be accountable for:
Compliance with US and local Accounting Standards;
Timely closing and reporting on group and statutory audits;
Providing accounting guidance to all accounting constituents feeding into the Financial Statements of the Legal Entities in scope, and particularly to Accounting Teams in the Service Centers and in Adana, as well as business and function employees feeding into the Legal Entities Financial Statements.
Ensure that effective controls over financial reporting exist. This includes:
Active participation in the applicable SOX 404 processes;
Strong Internal Control Focus in line with the DuPont Internal Controls Standard Manual;
Providing all necessary guidance on internal control matters to all parts of the local organization and in all areas;
On-going monitoring of Accounts Reconciliations;
Gatekeeping for all finance and accounting matters affecting the Financial Statements;
Managing the relationships with independent auditors and Internal Audit for all internal control matters.
Understand the business activities housed within the entities and their intercompany relationships:
Liaise with all businesses and functions (Tax, Treasury, Legal, Sourcing, Sales, etc.) to keep abreast of business activities and new developments;
Provide Accounting guidance to all projects with financial implications for the legal entities.
Directly supervise the Legal Entity accounting team located in Adana and provide indirect guidance and oversight to the Teams providing services to the Turkish entities from the Service Centers.
Key requirements:
University degree
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with a strong knowledge of statutory and international accounting standards and financial reporting,
Recognized professional qualification in Accounting/Finance e.g.CA/ CPA is preferred
Experience in People Management – including a demonstrated track record in managing and developing a team of accounting professionals and ability to motivate others
Experience and advanced knowledge of SAP
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Fluent in Turkish and English
