Job Description
Your duties & responsibilities
- Support the development of standards for our plants processes, machine and tooling
Support Assembly competencies for passenger car exhaust systems.
Support the replication of best practices across plants on equipment utilization.
Lead/support benchmark analysis/tests define Tenneco future technologies.
- Support launches
Support the Customer RFQ process (Request for Quotation) with regards to Manufacturing process concepts & equipments to be planned.
Support feasibility analysis.
Support plants in defining the Scope of Requirement (SOR) for new equipment/projects.
Support plants upon need for machine receptions, run offs, ramp ups.
Main interfaces for your job
- Product Engineering
provide guidance on product designers to ease the manufacturing of the products on our approved / standard technologies (Design For Manufacturing rules - DFM).
provide a link between engineering resources and plant teams.
- CCT Joining and Components
Translate the "assembly customer" needs into the component sub processes.
Improve Assembly to ease the components processes.
- CCT Measuring & gaging: contribute to the definition of appropriate control systems/mechanisms for our product.
- AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering)
Development of automation in our processes to improve efficiency and save costs.
Support advanced process development as required using the CCT team knowledges.
- MES / PSS: Equipment efficiency/performance tracking and data driven improvements.
- Purchasing: support purchasing through machine/supplier technical evaluation and specifications in order to establish catalogs towards frame agreements.
- Suppliers: technical interface with potential and preferred equipments suppliers.
- Plants: provide assistance, training and coaching as required
- International exposure: counterparts from North America, Asia Pac for instance
Required Skills
Your skills / profile
- Process engineer, successful experience in welded assembly processes context.
Experience in process development & continuous improvement.
- Process planning
line layout, line balance. Time analysis skills is a plus as MTM2 or stopwatch
Ergonomics
Process cost estimation
Creation of Statement Of Requirement (SOR), equipment validation/reception
Experience in tooling definition
- Soft skills
Team leader, proactive behavior, project drive, autonomy
Ability to work in team, good listener, supportive
- Structured problem solving skills
6sigma education is a plus
Analytical approach using data to drive decisions
- Knowledge in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up
- Knowledge in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
- Strong knowledge of Office tools
- Frequent contact / exposure to all our EUCA plants
English mandatory, another European language will be a plus
work experience in international environment will be a plus
willingness to travel on a reasonable amount normal average 25%, max 50%
