Process Improvement Specialist
Our client is a major producer within the food and drink sector. Due to an ongoing commitment to improving processes and procedures, they now have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join their team.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Technical Manager, your focus will be to review, simplify, integrate and improve back office operations relating to quality, food safety and SHE performance.
Responsibilities include:-
To proactively lead the transition from paper based systems to the use of an effective IT solution for building an effective Integrated Management System (IMS).
To support the Technical and Commercial teams with specification and recipe management
To support the group safety function with performance analysis and report generation
To provide timely and accurate performance reports and dashboards for monthly meetings across the manufacturing functions
To proactively promote the use of process mapping to identify and drive continuous improvements in back office processes.
To proactively liaise with the associated IT providers re upgrades, user groups and on-going support requirements and provide timely reports on performance of the system.
Liaise with Managers and nominated system users to support their on-boarding of external users where appropriate.
To ensure that all supplier information is evaluated and risk assessed as part of the companies due diligence program.
To oversee and manage the system operationally, ensuring:
a. Compliance with system requirements
b. Audits of system effectiveness are performed and acted upon
c. Future development of the system
Key Deliverables:
Deliver a robust document management solution for the business and an effective review process at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. Analyse data on the effectiveness of the document management system and evaluate where continual improvements can be made
Deliver sustainable improvements in back office processes
Provide timely fact based data and information for monthly reports
Deliver a simplified, user friendly solutions for managing and evaluating supplier approval
Ensure that the risk register, training matrix and audit schedules are effectively maintained (by their designated subject matter experts / leads)
Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the Document Management system / Process is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
Knowledge, Key Skills and Experiences
Knowledge and application of process mapping and modelling techniques i.e. mapping AS IS processes, covering the various departments/actors involved in a process, and then looking at improvements and TO BE models.
Energetic, analytical and focussed on delivering excellence with experience in process mapping, data analysis, trending and reporting
Strong understanding (hands on and theoretical) of business process mapping and data analysis techniques combined with a continuous improvement mind set and approach
Functional partnering combined with strong analytical skills and a passion for excellence
Hands on approach combined with mentoring and facilitation skills
Self-motivated and resilient to overcome barriers both individually and as part of a project team
Strong communication and influencing skills – both verbal and written. Able to flex their influencing style and engage effectively with people at different levels within the business. Also able to construct compelling arguments and vary style and content to motivate, persuade and challenge others.
