The combination of Shermco and MEC has created the largest independent electrical testing and maintenance service company in North America, serving energy, industrial and utility customers across the U.S., Canada and other select international markets. Shermco Industries Canada Inc. (formerly MEC) provides electrical consulting, manufacturing, maintenance and field testing/commissioning services that are highly complementary to those provided by Shermco, accelerating Shermco’s strategy to offer a full range of its services to a broad, global customer base. About the Opportunity Summary of Roles and Responsibilities: The Regional Account Manager is directly responsible for driving the revenue of the local operations by providing direct sales to Shermco clients. The Regional Account Manager generates business opportunities through creating/managing proposals and providing follow-up to clients. Building strong relationships with key Shermco clients is an integral part of the Regional Account Manager’s role, including generating new opportunities for Shermco business with new and existing clientele. The Regional Account Manager is also responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of the local office, and works in conjunction with the VP, Operations to establish an annual budget and ensure the financial revenue goals are met. This role is heavily incentive based with a high level upside earning potential. Major Functions: Provides Direct Sales to Clients Generates business opportunities for Shermco Promotes the company through direct sales to new and existing clients of Shermco Develops and delivers presentations to prospective clients in pursuit of large project opportunities Cultivates relationships with key clients and potential business associates with the intent to establish business opportunities Prepares quotations and works in conjunction with staff in assembling large proposals; submits quotations to clients of varying sizes dependant on confidence and knowledge of scope and application Follows up on opportunities and secures business Manages the quotation database and ensures quotations and proposals are pursued aggressively Communicates with Operations staff to determine areas to focus sales efforts Assists in corporate business development activities as required Marketing and Planning Ensures the local office’s marketing approach is in line with the short-term and long term, strategic corporate goals Corresponds with Operations to determine if any changes are required to the Shermco sales and marketing direction Internally communicates the capabilities and recent successful projects to other Business Development and Operations staff across the company Gets directly involved with the identification, promotion and establishment of new market opportunities Assists Operation Manager in developing sales strategies to ensure the operation is successful Determines the marketing infrastructure requirements to reach the desired goals Provides input to the annual business plan and long term strategic plan Skills and Qualifications: Successful completion of an Industrial or Technical trade certificate or diploma program from a recognized Canadian educational institution 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following industries: technical, plant, refinery, electrical, oil & gas, industrial, and mining Outside sales experience will be considered an asset Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with a diverse customer base Strong negotiating and problem solving skills Willingness to travel; valid Driver’s License required Our Benefits Shermco Industries Canada is a fun place to work with plenty of room for career advancement.
