Job Description
Context & Team Presentation
You will join the "3D Augmented Experiences" service under the direction of Dassault Systèmes Research. Its mission is to invent tomorrow's 3D techniques and contents for virtual worlds and augmented reality, in order to allow virtual experiments close to reality.
Role & Objective
This course addresses the need to enrich the traditional way of generating 3D data (CAD, 3D reconstruction) by making possible the automatic and massive synthesis of new forms from existing parts.
The work that you will carry out during this course will be part of a 3D reconstruction theme and will aim to work on the analysis and the automatic, robust and realistic synthesis of 3D shapes from a reduced base of objects.
The objective of this course will focus on:
• Automatic co-segmentation of 3D objects from an existing database
• 3D grammar inference through the analysis of shapes and structures and the detection of global and local
symmetries • Generation Automatic new 3D objects that will preserve the identified shapes and structures by varying the appearance, while respecting the inferred grammar
To achieve this goal, you will need to study, implement and test different methods inspired by the state of the art.
