Functional Description and Responsibilities
Commercial contact to the customer according to Tenneco development cycles standards during all program lifecycle phases (acquisition, development, industrialization, serial production and aftermarket if required).
Foster business relationship with your assigned customer to achieve customer satisfaction.
Implement Tenneco strategies with your assigned customer.
Customer Relationship and Business Growth
As a corporate role provide commercial service to all manufacturing plants independent of the location.
Support the Key Account Manager maintaining sales services to the customer.
Execute quarterly / annual price agreement with the customer due to scope changes or market dynamics (PGM, alloy and exchange rate).
Create an environment of constructive collaboration with the customer. Foster a remarkable business behavior and a customer first spirit. Agree deliverables with commercial counterparts at the customer and stick to agreed timings.
As an essential contribution to meet turnover objectives of Tenneco support in new business acquisition. Present new business opportunities to the management and achieve approval to quote. Process new opportunities by managing cross-functional teams. Set up commercial offers in line with customer specific quotation analysis forms and achieve management approval before submission. Negotiate offers the customer and facilitate business nomination.
Analyze customer specific requirement books / statement of works during business acquisition. Workout boundary conditions being able to process new opportunities internally.
Program Deliverables and Engineering Change Management
Negotiate engineering changes during development and annual model year updates based on open book offers in customer specific quotation analysis forms.
Establish and maintain business cases and present them at internal management approval forums in line with Tenneco standards.
Work in cross-functional teams and be in close contact with other function during the complete product lifer cycle.
Manage engineering changes in a customer specific commercial process. Ensure submission of quotes and availability of purchase orders in line with program timing requirements.
Cost Leadership
Drive costing excellence within the Cost Controlling domain. Facilitate availability of cost targets for every component and assembly as applicable for the finished.
Support internal and external TVM sessions to improve cost of ownership.
Financial Accountability
Manage complex business cases and deliver financial commitments to the business during the complete product life cycle. In case of shocks in financial performance drive total value management initiatives with Program Managers and cross-functional teams to bring the business back on track.
Ensure that planned annual turnovers materialize in line with annual planning targets.
Control payments that are overdue and personally drive payments to ensure cash performance.
Initiate and control correct accruing.
Marketing and Annual Sales Planning
Support of Key Account Management analyzing customer strategies and market / peer dynamics.
Contribute to annual, 5-year and long term sales planning and turnover forecasting.
Support legal checks of contractual obligations.
Sales Administration
Ensure correct sales data maintenance in SAP from day one of purchase order receipt.
Monitor and facilitate correct purchase order receipts. Ensure that orders match quotes (e.g. prices, incoterms, vendor codes, etc.)
Manage approximately 200 live serial part numbers dedicated aftermarket part numbers in parallel.
Maintain price tracking sheets to allow full traceability of price development.
Required Skills
General Requirements / Skills
Master or bachelor degree of arts with special education in sales / marketing.
Minimum 3-5 years of commercial working experience within the automotive (OEM or supply chain) sector. Alternatively, commercial education with more than 10 years working experience in a sales environment.
Strong sales character with excellent perseverance skills and comprehensive controlling and finance knowledge.
Experience with Self-Bill-Invoicing and Pay-On-Production terms.
Experience with manufacturing technologies for complex assembled products and workmanship / manipulation of metal materials.
1st experience with logistics processes (build-to-sequence, pick-to sequence, batch delivery).
Experience with open book cost calculations and pricing.
Analytical skills and comprehensive capabilities to negotiate complex cases.
Flexibility to travel domestic and international.
Social competency and team oriented approach.
Confident presentation skills and the capability to communicate complex cases short and simple.
Remarkable accountability and the of spirit driving changes autonomous.
Creativity and ability to work in a complex and highly dynamic environment.
Excellent English language skills. (mother tongue preferred).
Advanced IT software knowledge with Microsoft Office tools especially Excel and PowerPoint.
SAP knowledge (sales administration, EDI scheduling and deliveries, cost analysis, material movements).
