SCORJOB OFFER | 16.02.2017 With us you will be a member of the small Corporate Property & Casualty (CPC) EMEA team in Zurich. As a Senior Underwriter you are responsible for maintaining and developing a portfolio of Individual Property (re)insurance programs of large Corporate Risks in the Industrial and Commercial Sectors, mainly from Germany but also from other European or Overseas countries. Generating new business, developing SCOR’s market share in the assigned client portfolio as well as selecting, evaluating and to underwrite offers of direct and facultative property business are only a few among the various interesting tasks. In addition, visiting clients, brokers and ceding companies as well as surveying risks onsite build an important part of the job. As the local Team Head, you oversee the activities of the small Zurich team including accountability for overall profitability and development of the assigned portfolio, effective administration of back office tasks and budget control. Managing the team of currently two professionals includes giving guidance and direction to the team, managing performance and coaching. You have established an extensive property underwriting expertise (around 10years+) together with large corporate risks underwriting experience, preferably in the German market and/or internationally. This implies a good understanding of German direct insurance and multinational (re)insurance business. Successful candidates have a University degree in Engineering or from a Technical discipline or/and an Insurance qualification. To thrive in this role, you take personal responsibility, focus on excellence and you are initiative and open to new ideas. With your excellent negotiation and communication skills as well as analytical and conceptual capabilities, combined with the desire to work in an international environment (including travelling), you are an optimal addition to the team. Additionally, you have gained some first people management experience where you have led the team by example, delegated effectively and provided an open and prosperous climate. German as mother tongue and professional command in English is a prerequisite, any other language an advantage.
