Edinburgh Tram are recruiting! We are searching for a self motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Stores team as a Stores Coordinator.

The successful candidate will monitor and maintain stock levels of materials and be responsible for stock records and level of materials, material requisitions, goods receipt, returns and identifying stock for quarantine, as well as managing the calibration cycle for specialised tools. Part of the role will be to ensure supplier documentation and deliveries are complete, investigate any discrepancies, take charge of handling material repairs, returns and scrapping. Further, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets and COSHH assessments for the parts in stock.

What are my responsibilities?
Packing materials/goods according to logistical demands/programme, in order to support timely handling of work orders.
Loading and unloading of trucks in a safe manner, in order to ensure the released goods are moved and stored without any damage and in line with manual handling guidelines.
Monitor and manage tools and materials that are subject to statutory inspection and/or calibration.
Ensure that only equipment with the necessary statutory / calibration certification is issued and used.
Complete regular stock checks, making visual checks and testing storage conditions such as temperature, humidity and storage environment or weight, size, type of goods stored, in order to ensure that the material is stored correctly and if necessary to able to take corrective action at an early stage.
Initiation of material replenishment requisitions and creation of parts on the maintenance management system, where necessary.
Ensure that goods are picked in accordance with work order reservations to ensure that they are supplied in good time to the technical team.
Ensure the integrity of the stores area is maintained at all times.
Undertake ad hoc technician duties as required.
Maintaining Material Safety Datasheets and COSHH assessments for relevant materials stored.
Health & Safety:

Ensure compliance with the BMS procedures relative to their position
Follow emergency procedures
Wear approved protective clothing and using safety equipment when required by health and safety regulations.
Use all equipment provided safely and notifying local management of any observed deficiencies or defects as soon as they become apparent
Inform management of any changes in materials, plant or processes and of any new materials, plant or processes which become apparent in the course of work that may impact on safety or the environment
Inform management of any potential improvements that could improve Siemens environmental performance
Immediately inform management of any observed hazards, injuries or dangerous occurrences, which become apparent during work
Stop work when instructed to do so and only resume or commence work when instructed it is safe to do so
Report all safety and environmental incidents and accidents
What do I need to qualify for this role?
A full clean UK driving license is required
A fork lift truck license is desirable but not essential as training will be given
Must have a strong attention to detail
Must be confident and approachable
Must be a motivated individual who can work well on your own as well as contribute in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Experience of working in a warehouse environment is desirable
Knowledge of warehouse processes is desirable
Some knowledge of logistical IT tools and methods
