GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
To co-ordinate/supervise work groups by assigning work, scheduling work hours, check results, take actions to ensure quality work, and provide training for staff. To Supervise physical works on site, ensuring safe delivery, compliance to appropriate internal and external standards and timely completion.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
Ensure the safety integrity of all activities undertaken by the staff he is responsible for.
Manage site construction costs against agreed project targets and manage robust records to support this.
Ensure personal site diary maintained with daily events recorded appropriately.
Organise, manage and develop robustly, a first class Civils/Concreting labour delivery team and maintain suitable hard copy and soft copy records for regular audit.
Deliver daily site briefings, Health and Safety briefings and tool box talks.
Assist the Construction manager through the allocation of labour resources to projects, both internal and external to deliver required skills and keep the team utilisation on or above target
Take active involvement in the planning of the projects, working alongside the technical staff. Plan, order and oversee, Plant requirements (Small and large plant), material requirements and manage site storage issues.
Liaise with Logistics and Procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and give early notification of deficiencies.
Uphold and support established and agreed ways of working with customers (internal or external) to ensure ongoing feedback on team’s performance. Use the feedback to identify outstanding performance and improve poor performance.
Make recommendations with respect to career planning and development of the site labour resources.
Ensure that all resources delivering concrete installation and construction activities across the Alliance comply with relevant specifications and standards set by the Lead Engineer and the Project Engineering Assurance Manager.

Knowledge/Experience
Proven experience of team leadership and influencing staff
Previous experience of concrete installation and construction activities, ideally for urban systems (Tramways, LRT)
Understanding of other related rail disciplines and interface management
