WAREHOUSE SHIFT MANAGER
Musgrave Wholesale Partners are an Irish family business established in 1876. We a leading supplier to the catering sector and and play a strong and vibrant role in supporting local communities.
We are currently recruiting a shift manager to join our existing dynamic and successful warehouse team at our Blanchardstown location in Dublin 15. We offer progressive opportunities for people with long term goals within the Supply Chain business.
Reporting to the operations manager, the successful candidate will lead, manage and motivate the warehouse team to achieve operational targets and standards in a business where customer satisfaction is critical.
Key Activities:
Managing all warehouse resources to ensure adequate availability at all times to facilitate the effective running of the warehouse to the required highest standard
Coordinating all warehouse shift activities (days, evenings, nights) in line with set targets and KPIs, to ensure effective cost control
Assist with recruitment and selection of staff to meet business needs (inclusive of assessment centres)
Assist in identifying training and development needs of staff in line with business objectives
Utilise resources to maximise efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
Lead the warehouse team to deliver a best in class service to our customers in line with the business objectives
Manage and ensure adherence and compliance of operational processes within the business
Ensure effective communication within the operational teams and implement practices which will ensure the engagement of employees in line with the Musgrave values
Maintain a working environment in line with legislation to include Health & Safety, Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
Ensuring excellent levels of service and quality to customers
Monitoring and investigation of claims and implementation of appropriate plans to reduce instances of customer complaints and claims
Liaising with customer representatives to promote continued successful partnership and the maintenance of good will towards the company
Ensuring service continuity at peak seasonal times
Monitoring customer claims / errors, identifying the root causes and implementing the steps to remedy via an appropriate programme of claim / error reduction
Working with the HR department to reduce accidents and incidents in the workplace
Implementing key improvement initiatives in operational productivity, capacity and environmental awareness
Manage and lead the team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve objectives, and that they operate in a manner consistent with the ethos and values of the organisation.
Build and sustain a high performing engaged team by providing clear direction, stretch targets, regular reviews to manage all levels of performance (proactively manage under performance and recognise and encourage high performance)
Ensure appropriate performance review, development and succession management systems are operating effectively to develop and retain the requisite skilled resources to meet current and future business needs.
Your profile
As a Shift Manager you will be required to have the following experience:
Min. 3-5 years management level (or higher)
Flexibility in relation to Shift Rotation
Proven track record of effective resource management to maximise productivity
Proven track record of people management
Proven track record of cost control
Strong Communication skills
Honesty, integrity and openness
Strong problem solving focus
Excellent flexibility and adaptability in management style
Strong People Management
Desirable Experience:
Min. 3 years` experience in retail / foodservice distribution
Strong knowledge of foodservice and retail business
Proficient in use of BCP Manager
