Wind Capture & T&H > Rotor Engineering > Hub The Hub Engineering department is responsible for providing technologies, competences, components and system solutions in the areas of blade pitching, hub design and service for Vestas wind turbines. The international team is located both in Denmark and abroad where we still are expanding to meet the demands of a vastly growing and challenging business. Responsibilities As a blade bearing engineer your main focus will be to: Designing blade bearings to the pitch system and related components for the blade bearing module. Work together in cross functional teams and in cooperation with international suppliers providing solutions. Verify bearings and components by a wide range of test and calculation methods. Implement the blade bearing module into production. Contribute to the development of future turbines by defining and performing technology developments. Participate in estimating component life time. Monitor performance of blade bearings on installed turbines. Qualifications A M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering; Sound understanding of fundamental machines and components. Has developed experience in simulation using FEA methods; knowledge of metallurgy and of tribology. Up to 3 years’ experience with a larger organisation dealing with complex products are of interest. Ability to and interest in documenting your work in English. Competencies Professional skills: Material science, DFSS, FEA, fatigue, testing and reliability, tribology, knowledge in machining processes. Personal skills: Eager to learn and develop oneself in a dynamic organization, and be detail interested. Good communication and presentation skills (English), structured, self-motivated, open minded, ambitious. Interested in doing things practically, being assertive and diplomatic with suppliers. Computer skills: Reporting and presentation tools, Matlab, ANSYS.
