Job Summary:
The group leader is responsible for organizing and directing all activities for his / her production area (s) with a view to producing a timely manner according to the required production of the required amount of parts that meet the quality requirements and in compliance with the applicable environmental and safety regulations.
The group leader also ensures that these components are produced at the lowest possible cost and within the previously available budgets.
The group leader is also responsible for achieving the department goals in areas including environment and safety, housekeeping, output, efficiency, quality and material in-process. In addition, he is committed / endeavoring to improve the processes continuously with a view to improving the efficiency, quality and safety within his department. To achieve this, he involves his active employees as well as representatives of the relevant departments such as process engineers, maintenance engineers, ... in this process.
Job responsibilities:
The group leader has six major areas:
the organization of the production
coaching, motivating and training of its employees
ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
continuously improve the efficiency, quality and safety within his department
optimizing the use of assets (OEE / OOE)
organizing the TPM activities
More specific tasks:
The group leader is responsible for:
organizing and directing all activities (people, materials, methods, machines) within their assigned department (s) to timely produce the required quantity of parts according to the prescribed production.
preparing daily production on the basis of available data such as line schedules, computer programs, bill of material (BOM), production standards, prescribed working methods, etc.
the organization of an optimal distribution of work and the balance of the available manpower in order to produce the planned production volumes in the most efficient manner.
monitoring the quality punctual and be carried out accurately and that the delivered parts to the quality requirements.
urging its employees to wear the prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) to supervise the respect of safety, encouraging safe work, actively participate in the detection of security risks and improve safety in general within his department including by identifying and removing the causes of accidents. Concerning safety and the environment, he follows the laws and internal rules (see document control MBS 136).
making correct use of prescribed environmental standards and ensure an environmentally conscious way of working.
giving and doing drafting guidelines regarding housekeeping and the purity of the department, machinery and equipment (5S).
supervising perform the correct and in accordance with set frequency TPM tasks in order to improve the availability of machinery and equipment.
supporting preventive maintenance tasks including through the timely scheduling of the time required to perform these tasks.
the correct and timely reporting of defects in machinery and equipment and planning of the necessary time to carry out planned repairs.
coordinating the training of new or relocated employees, supervising and motivating employees (eg by giving positive feedback), and providing training for staff in order to expand the job knowledge and thus the efficiency and flexibility of to improve the team.
the involvement of employees in the continuous improvement project and encourage them to submit proposals for improvement to reduce operating costs and improve product quality and safety.
the timely preparation and holding of review meetings with his staff and taking, according to existing guidelines, disciplinary measures, in consultation with their supervisors and personnel department.
avoid and mediate conflicts within his department that he informs the supervisors and personnel department and, if necessary, involve them there.
the active involvement of the employees of the department in preparing action plans and coordinating and monitoring necessary for the implementation of these measures to achieve the department objectives, including by providing regular communication to all employees.
ensuring correct reporting of the figures during or at the end of the shift (production numbers, scrapbook, shop floor, ..).
checking and correctly identify the stock parts eg. scrap or rejected parts and properly storing or disposing of such parts.
required Skills
Education:
Industrial engineer (electro) mechanics
Computer knowledge:
Office - package (Word / Excel); within the framework of analysis, reporting and a visual display of the KPIs of the department
Competences:
Understand and apply lean principles and 5S.
Strong coaching skills
Strong analytical: examining results and gaps in a thorough manner, together with the team action plans to improve results.
Flexible and stress resistant: can adapt in a dynamic and demanding environment
Works organized; Strong hot prioritization.
Driven person with a strong sense of urgency
Good knowledge of Dutch, since the interactions happen to the team member at work in Dutch.
can express properly in English
required Experience
Work experience:
2 years experience in production management, experience in process engineering is recommended
Work experience in the automotive is a plus
