Amec Foster Wheeler is looking to recruit a HR Manager to lead the HR team in Aberdeen, In this role you will accountable for defining, delivering and supporting the people strategy to support the agreed business aims and objectives and to demonstrate leadership and management of a high performing HR service through professionalism and collaboration.
Please note this is a 9 month fixed term role.
Typical duties will be as follows:
Lead and manage HR team to deliver a generalist HR service to the OU.
Manage the capability, delivery and development of an operational HR team
Participate in, and contribute to, the development of people related strategies in the business. Through excellent influencing and decision making skills, implement people strategy and deliver HR solutions to enable the business to achieve business objectives and maximise our people potential
To ensure HR engagement and delivery through strong and effective business relationships within the leadership team and functional management. Support, influence and lead managers in all aspects of people management.
Participate in and implementation of corporate initiatives
Drive continuous improvement and innovative solutions particularly in relation to improved structure, systems, process leading to ensure greater added value.
Support acquisition integration in order that business objectives are effectively met, particularly with regard to employee relations and culture
Participate in driving internal audits on procedure and process within HR to ensure a balance of assurance and business effectiveness
Support projects and functions with effective succession planning through robust and regular reviews of personnel in key positions
Lead, influence and support the integration of robust performance management systems, providing advice and support to manage and retain a high calibre team of core and temporary personnel who satisfy the needs of the business and its planned growth.
Drive termination and redundancy situations via effective workforce planning through working closely with the project and functions. Lead this process in line with best practice and legislation in order to effectively manage personnel while supporting line management and recognising business needs.
Develop, lead and support HR team in ensuring good employee relations through active engagement of trade unions, employee representatives, employees and contractors
Work with Line Managers on key activities including ASR, ABR, PDR’s etc. Advise on ratings, comments and development activities
Lead and facilitate interim review or changes to terms and conditions in a timely manner while supporting and encouraging managers to consider value added by their teams.
Provide proactive solutions and decision making in conjunction with operational requirements, in line with best practice and to support decision making in line with business requirements.
Ensure risk to the business is minimised to satisfy appropriate legislation and business requirements whilst recognising best practice and ensuring consistency across the business
Support the business in the management of change while maintaining effective operational delivery
Provide guidance and support to HR support teams and the HRSSC to ensure all HR systems (and data) are accurately updated and maintained so that there is a constant input and update of information
Demonstrate and promote the principles of Amec Foster Wheeler’s values at all times
Skills / Qualifications
CIPD qualified or equivalent
Chartered status
Senior HR generalist experience
Extensive and varied operational HR management experience including recruitment and downsizing, attraction and retention, employee relations, compensation & benefits, learning and development, commensurate with size of the role
Supervision of a HR team
Established credibility at a senior management level
Must have broad HR generalist experience and performed effectively in a HR management role
Experience of working in a multi-sector organisation
Experience of working in a trade union environment
Experience of a matrix organisation
Experience of working in a fluid and fast paced environment
