Engineering/Control Engineering / Control Platforms
Vestas Power Solutions, Engineering is an independent business unit within Vestas Wind Systems A/S responsible for product design including full profit and loss accountability for our products. Control Engineering is part of Power solutions, Engineering being responsible for control systems and load performance and control across all our products.
The Control platforms department develops the control hardware including the operating software and the I/O software. The department is also responsible for developing new control platform technology as well as driving cost-out of the technology.
Responsibilities
As manager for Control platforms you will report to the Director, and be part of the management team within Control Engineering. Your main responsibility will be to ensure team performance, primarily in executing and delivering high quality designs, documentation and input to Industrialization on time.
Furthermore, you must ensure and maintain good contact to a large number of stakeholders throughout the value chain, such as Technology, Sales and Production Business Units. You are expected to have a continuously good overview of all on-going tasks in the department and be prepared to communicate schedules and resource constraints, and to negotiate priorities.
More specifically you will be working with the following challenges:
Responsible for budgets
People management and development (one-one dialogues, development plans, target settings, etc.)
Map and meet the your key stakeholders' requirements
Make roadmaps, business cases, project scoping and feasibility studies within your area
Facilitate planning sessions and follow up on progress
Plan resource allocations and ensure competence development
Identify cost optimizations in processes and products
Have a strategic outlook
In addition, the activities in the team will also cover concept development and selection, software and component optimization, documentation for certification, IPR, technology road map projects, test and verify solutions, anchoring and sharing knowledge, qualifying new products, and process improvements of design and analyses.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years management/project management experience from a large organization
A bachelor/master degree in a relevant area such as Electrical, Software, Mechatronic engineering or similar
Solid working experience as Engineer
Experienced people manager, preferably of hardware development teams
It is an advantage if you have lead international teams of 20 people

Additional information
Work location will be at Vestas Headquarter, Hedeager 42, in Aarhus, Denmark.
Approximately 20 travelling days per year should be expected.
