THE ROLE
This role provides a practical and proactive HR business partnering service to Supply Chain. The post holder will work collaboratively with their leadership teams to formulate and deliver the Supply Chain strategy and business plan whilst managing their people effectively. They will manage ongoing analysis of effectiveness of their business and people plan, challenging and supporting where necessary. This role is a key and active member of the HR team, contributing to and influencing the development of the people agenda and strategy, providing challenge and consulting support, whilst ensuring legal compliance in all aspects of people management
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Partnering:
Partner the leadership team in the people planning process, participating in the formulation of the Supply Chain Business plan, influencing decisions as appropriate by understanding issues, budgets and performance.
Take ownership for the development and delivery of the People plan that effectively underpins the Supply Chain Business Plan.
Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on opportunities, risks and possible people and business impacts of decisions.
Participate fully in key people relative change decisions, identifying and effectively dealing with any people or cultural issues.
Work collaboratively with People Services, Resourcing, Talent/L&D and ER partners in the delivery of the HR Strategy.
Performs analysis on the existing people plan and metrics, driving recommendations and implementation of improvements so always fit for purpose.
Supports Supply Chain leaders in analysing external trends, opportunities and challenges, providing guidance on future positioning and direction.
Performance Excellence:
Support management teams in the implementation and evaluation of employee engagement survey and action planning to continuously measure and improve employee engagement and raise operational performance.
Work collaboratively with management and L&D team in identifying training needs, and creating solutions that are commercially focused and align to the people and business plan.
Proactively coach management teams to drive performance improvement on key HR metrics including attendance, labour turnover, disciplinary and grievances.
Ownership of the roll out plan and delivery of programmes across Supply Chain, in addition to keeping it alive strategies.
Measurement and Evaluation of the ROI on learning solutions.
Coaching teams against delivery of business and personal objectives for career progression.
Drive a Learning Organisation culture within the Supply Chain by reinforcing the value of learning and self-development.
Talent Management:
Work collaboratively with management and Talent team in development and delivery of a clear manpower and succession plan, providing capable, skilled and motivated people.
Partner leaders in identifying high potential individuals, developing and providing opportunities within Supply Chain and the wider business.
Work with the Resourcing team to develop a proactive recruitment strategy.
Coach and support Line Managers through the recruitment and interview processes.
Develop Supply Chain teams understanding of the external talent market, ensuring they can apply knowledge to build/develop talented individuals to drive engagement and commitment.
Promote a positive and rewarding working culture and environment across Supply Chain to increase employee engagement and reduce employee turnover.
Core HR:
Facilitate / mediate in teams to nip in the bud and informally resolve potential grievance issues and ensure positive working relationships and outcomes across Supply Chain.
Advise and support management teams with complex people issues, engaging the support of the ER team as and when appropriate.
Undertake specific HR projects, providing effective project planning to ensure delivery on time and to the required standard, as and when required.
Actively take part in HR team meetings, both locally and centrally.
Network both internally and externally, sharing best practice with other HR colleagues.
Actively work towards partnerships with Trade Union representatives to maintain and sustain good employee relations.
Support with the development of the People Services team, providing Supply Chain insight that’s supports delivery of timely, accurate and business-focussed HR advice.
THE PERSON
You will be assertive with good communication skills and the ability to demonstrate experience in influencing at all levels.
You will have the ability to interpret data and engage stakeholders to make informed decisions and deliver business focused solutions.
You will have strong coaching skills.
You will have experience of working with management and central HR teams in identifying skills gaps and developing and delivering robust talent maps.
You will have a good understanding of the HR arena and Business Partnering Model.
You will have experience of adapting, leading and/or supporting teams through change.
You will be able to demonstrate good understanding and experience of supporting employee engagement.
You will have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience of business partnering.
Solid background in HR, development and implantation of people plans.
Proven experience in Supply Chain and ideally distribution.
CIPD qualified.
Degree level education or equivalent experience.
Coaching qualification.
Experience of working with Trade Union.
