Plant Solutions/Plant Applications/Application Development Plant Solutions, part of Vestas Power Solutions, are responsible for the products and services related to combining individual wind turbines into a wind power plant. This ranges across SCADA products, power plant security, electrical grid connection and compliance, advanced radar technologies for aviation warnings, wind turbine diagnostics and performance measurements. Plant Applications is a sub department of Plant Solutions with 45 employees located in Aarhus, Denmark, and a near-shoring setup in Poland. We are responsible for Vestas' Wind & Site software platform, for retrieving data from wind power plants, storing the data within Vestas and building data driven applications that bring value to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities The activity in the siting software area is increasing and we need a dedicated developer to support and spar with the person who is in charge of the area. In general solutions are outlined and specified by the team here in Denmark and implemented using consultants, either local developers who sit with us at the office or we use the near-shoring setup we have in Poland. Does that mean that all you will ever do is write long requirement specifications? No, not at all. We do coding ourselves too. But it is definitely an advantage if you see yourself more as the extrovert lead developer / architect type than the one who prefers to sit in a basement and code all day long. You will be talking to a lot of different stakeholders in a truly global organization - which is also one of the really exciting aspects of this job. Responsibilities: Responsible for designing and implementing secure, robust and maintainable solutions Transform requirements from stakeholders into generic integration solutions Facilitate development tasks which are carried out by external near-sourcing partners Coordinate tasks across SCRUM teams and departments Qualifications Preferably you have a relevant IT education such as Computer Science, minimum at a bachelor level, but a candidate without formal papers, but with a strong track record of relevant experience, would also be interesting for us Competencies As a person you have a high level of drive and are able to challenge the existing norms while maintaining flow. You also have the ability to balance your work between short term / urgent and longer term / not urgent. Further we expect that you: Are driven by results and can get things done Completes work in a timely manner and meets deadlines Contributes to building a positive team spirit and treats others with respect Fosters collaboration towards a common vision and shared goals We are looking for a candidate with some of the following technology skills: C#/.NET: WPF, WinForms and LINQ Web services: ASP.NET Web API and WCF MS SQL Server Design patterns Automated testing Continuous Integration: Jira, BitBucket and Bamboo LaTex (not mandatory) In the future we will move our current client-server solution to web, so experience with web based applications is a plus.
