GP’s North American Consumer business is currently looking for a Director, Innovation for our Dixie® retail business. This role will lead a team focused on the development of an innovation and new ventures pipeline aligned with the category vision
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Collaborate with business leadership team to develop a vision for the Innovation/New Ventures team that aligns with the category vision.
Lead a team of innovation managers, including career and personal development plans.
Work with capability leaders to identify and prioritize investments and staffing needs to achieve objectives.
Challenge team’s market points of view, consumer insights, and business model assumptions to facilitate a robust decision making process.
Strategy
Develop an innovation and new ventures agenda based on market points of view, consumer insights, business strategies and advantaged capabilities.
Lead a team of innovation managers and cross functional capabilities to develop the strategies to achieve the vision, and the appropriate metrics to measure success.
Seek challenge/input and influence senior leadership and key cross functional stakeholders.
Lead team though development of innovation initiatives from conception through commercialization.
Identify external solutions and/or technologies for potential licensing, partnerships or M&A opportunities.
Insights & Business Analytics
Guide team through the development of in-depth reviews of categories/segments/spaces of interest, including evaluation of existing market/category structures, category and product economics and consumer needs white space.
Collaborate with consumer insights and strategic business development capabilities to uncover consumer and business insights that will inform initiative develop and prioritization.
Drive learning through traditional and nontraditional experiments that will optimize the solution development sequence by maximizing knowledge collection and minimizing waste
Develop financial modeling to support business cases for new venture opportunities within current portfolio, services or adjacencies
Innovation & Consumer Communication
Lead team through innovation pipeline development, from ideation to commercialization.
Mitigate risk though solution portfolio diversification and leverage experimentation to quickly eliminate and elevate solutions as necessary.
Partner with cross functional capabilities (including R&D, finance, sales force excellence, operations, legal, and sourcing) to develop holistic business cases for innovation and new venture initiatives.
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
At least 7-10 years of business and product management experience is required
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and teams
Product innovation and/or new venture development experience (new categories, business models, etc.)
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA
Knowledge of consumer insights research processes & methods
Management and understanding of syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen)
New venture start up or incubator experience

Proven ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Strategic/critical thinker with broad functional experience that may include product marketing, strategic planning, financial analysis, competitive analysis, portfolio management and sales.
