The Functional Forms plant in Bergen op Zoom produces polycarbonate film products for electronic ID cards & automotive applications. During the film calendaring process, the rolls wear/damage over time during a production run. You will support the operations team in maximizing the run time of these rolls, reporting to the reliability manager.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
To maintain the high quality requirements the roll surface is reworked multiple times during its lifetime. Roll exchange due to wear and damage is one of the main detractors in film production efficiency, capacity & cost. You will perform an in-depth investigation to understand and eliminate root causes for roll failures in order to increase the run time of these rollers. During this period you will be working together with a diverse team of operators, specialists & plant leadership.
It is your responsibility to:
· Determine failure modes for roll wear and damage
· Increase Mean Time Between Failures
· Create an efficient work process between operations, maintenance and the roll rework firm
· Improve quality of roll handling
· Determine spare availability requirements
Requirements
- Education level: End year project or learning internship HBO or WO Process
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, etc.
- Start date internship: To be discussed (September)
- Duration internship: 3-6 months
- Language: Dutch
- Competencies: Hands-on Mentality, Result Oriented,
Driver license A or B and own motorcycle or car
