The SLUX Financial Reporting and Controllership organization is responsible for:
Ensuring legal entity executive reporting to KSA HQ is accurate, timely, relevant and provides independent analysis on historical and forward looking financials information for Corporate Finance leadership;
Providing proper financial and accounting technical support in SLUX cross functional projects, among others in the M&A, Tax and Treasury arenas;
Ensure IFRS compliance at all time in all SLUX internal and external reporting streams, and providing timely and technically sound IFRS analyses and opinions on any relevant IFRS complex matters in the SLUX areas of responsibilities;
Accurately and timely executing of the SABIC Luxembourg monthly consolidation process and the related IFRS and SOCPA reporting to KSA.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Lead the Project execution team (3 FTE) in the SLUX Financial Reporting and Controllership organization to ensure that all strategic growth projects in the SABIC Luxembourg area of responsibility have proper finance lead, strategic guidance and support.
In this context she/he is a key player in any sell-side and buy-side M&A project in the regions where:
Lead the preparation of all Corporate finance related data room deliverables (sell-side) and the review of all data room information provided by seller (buy-side)
Provides and ensure application of guidance on technical matters (EBITDA, net debt and working capital normalizations);
Plan, arrange and monitor all finance related PMO activities;
Manage the relation with E&BS and statutory controllers leadership to ensure all the necessary regional information are complete, relevant and in line with high quality standard (sell-side)
Coordinate the Special Purpose Financial Statements audit process, including interaction with external auditors
Lead the identification of financial related price sensitive negotiations topics and report them into the M&A team to support price negotiation in sell and buy side process
Understand, challenge and validate information and analyses received to ensure their reasonableness and accuracy and identify opportunities to provide the M&A team with financial negotiations topics
She/he also manages, in coordination with M&A and E&BS as applicable, the review of historical and forward looking information in the context of new business initiatives, such as new plant set up, major expansions CAPEX projects and JV inceptions. Ensure that his team analysis ensure the reasonableness of key assumptions and forecast growth trends. Coordinate the drafting and review of all the requested deliverables, ensuring that Corporate Finance leadership receives unbiased, independent analyses of proposed investment decisions, highlighting key opportunities and risks factors.
She/he lead and is fully accountable for all the due-diligence activities on Venture and T&I acquisition/licensing and other growth projects, including the drafting of internal reporting to Corporate Finance and T&I leadership. This include also validation and challenge of business plan and financial models.
Where needed, provides PMO competences and support in other strategic projects ongoing in the SABIC Luxembourg arena, including but not limited to implementation of new IFRS standards,
Have a deep understanding of historical and forward looking financial requirements in the context of limited recourse project financing structures and other capital market professional products. Plays a pivotal role in arranging the lender data room and in supporting lenders financial Q&A
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic growth support
Ensure that reporting on proposed projects is accurate, timely, relevant and provides independent analysis on historical and forward looking financials for Corporate Finance leadership and M&A decision making process;
In the context of sell-side projects, lead, co-ordinate and manage the data collection process, ensuring alignment with all the functions involved (E&BS, statutory controllers, etc);
In buy-side projects critically analyze quality and completeness of data room information provided, prepares and manages Q&A sessions with targets management and independently report to the SLUX controllership leadership
Effectively interact, where applicable, with external advisors ensuring quality of deliverables and best in class cost profile of the services received
Structurally and recurring support to the Venture deal origination and execution team
Lead the buy side due diligence efforts in the context of Venture potential acquisitions and other initiatives
Ensure independent validation of key growth project financials model and assumptions in the context of complex financing structure

On an ongoing basis, challenge the current reporting processes status quo to identify improvement opportunities. Suggest and support design and implementation of operational improvements that will positively impact upon service, safety, environmental and cost performance.
Is fully responsible and accountable for the design, implementation and maintenance of a “Special Project playbook” clearly laying out rules of engagement, responsibilities and accountabilities of all the parties involved
People Management:
Develops, leads and manages talent and provides opportunities for individuals to develop:
Train, coach, develop and motivate the team;
Promote finance teams knowledge sharing with the rest of the SLUX controllership team and IFR&C resources to improve the quality of reporting by sharing best practice
Requirements
University degree in Finance/Accounting
Broad and excellent knowledge of:
M&A processes and best practice
Transaction service processes and best practice
Chemical competitive space, business model and operations
Managerial planning, budgeting, reporting processes and of the related ERP enabler (SAP familiarity preferred)
Accounting statutory requirements (IFRS)
Power point and Excel proficiency is a pre-requisite for the position
