Job Description
Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Quality Inspector - Practitioner for a private nuclear MoD establishment in Reading. This is a permanent position paying a salary of £19,380 - £26,500 per annum including benefits.
To assist Quality service delivery through appropriate methods of inspection and evaluation, in support of the requirements of their specific Quality requirements
Key Accountabilities
* Supports certification of products, process, services and trials
* Application of Route-cards, non-conformities, concessions and work permits
* Maintenance and enhancement of skills, knowledge, and capabilities necessary to support both current and future work programmes
* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player
Key Responsibilities
* Assists delivery of technical assessments using appropriate methodologies
* Contribute to the development and validation of Quality methodologies
* Participation in experimental trials improvement activities and audits, where appropriate
* Engagement with relevant clients stakeholders and our international partners
* Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Skills
* Good attention to detail is essential
* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and standards
* Good inter-personnel skills
* Flexible with good oral and written communication skills
* Computer literate, competent in using the Microsoft Office range of software
* Participates in team building and communication exercises
* Good hand to eye co-ordination
* Able to provide inspection quality control support when undertaking investigations into performance issues
* Capable of developing solutions to issues in a unique manufacturing environment (Preferred)
* Ability to generate and improve upon inspection instructions and inspection reports aligned to manufacturing processes (Preferred)
* Understanding of Basic Quality Tools and World Class Manufacturing (Preferred)
Experience
* Previous experience in a Quality Control role
* Sound workshop experience in the application of inspection quality tools and techniques, production activities and processes
* Inspection practices, interpretation of detailed drawings, use of inspection equipment, setting up of components/assemblies
* Reporting of product status including non-conformance management
* Knowledge of Inspection tooling, processes, principles and practices Knowledge of and ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Basic understanding of problem resolution and continuous improvement tools and techniques
* Knowledge of basic and advanced inspection quality tools, processes and systems (Preferred)
* Knowledge of practical applications of 6-sigma methodology (Preferred)
Qualifications
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or relevant experience and qualifications
* ONC or equivalent in a related discipline (Preferred)
Special Requirements
* Willing and able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance necessary for the role
* Willing and able to work in designated areas
* Willing and able to travel within the UK and abroad as necessary
