THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Store Manager. The successful candidate will co-ordinate and lead the day-to-day operations of the store under his/her responsibility, in order to drive profitable sales, achieve “green” performance against business targets, exceed customer expectations and ensure the safe wellbeing of their Team Members, in accordance with Wilko’s standards and processes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drive store sales by ensuring local relevance, seasonal relevance, timely promotional activity execution, ensuing maximum availability, a great service culture, an Order Point frame of mind, and a desire to build positive community initiatives including business to business transactions.
Ensure the branch operation is aligned to the store’s ideal operation and accurately plan and coordinate store workload in order to control wages and sales per hour targets. Identify recruitment needs if applicable and present these to the Regional Manager for his/her approval.
Control, monitor and drive all Wilko standards, ensuring all procedures and processes are correctly set up, in place, and adhered to, in order to maximise the effectiveness and performance of the store and its operation.
Ensure the store’s stockfile is accurate, add on / write off targets achieved and liaise with Supply Chain and Inventory Departments, aligning store’s operation to ensure maximum availability is achieved 7 days a week, throughout the trading day.
Take necessary measures in line with Company procedures to minimise stock loss, and ensure reduced, faulties and destroyed targets are kept to a minimum, in order to meet business targets and ensure Customer satisfaction.
Recruit the correct specification of person in line with the relevant job briefs; ensuring store and individual needs can be met.
Drive and improve staff performance through training and development, coaching, appraisals and where necessary taking disciplinary action.
Monitor the training and development of all staff in accordance with Company training policy/systems (e.g. induction/essential skills, Health and Safety, legal requirements, customer service) to ensure a safe working (and shopping) environment at all times.
